While the club prioritized returning to home in Lescotts District, returning to the Olympic Stadium became an alternative.

According to this newspaper, Barcelona has signed an agreement with Barcelona Municipal Services (BSM) to be used at the Olympic Stadium until the end of February. In this way, four home games in the Champions League group stage and possible play-offs (if the team ranks between 9 and 24) will be guaranteed, which is in line with UEFA regulations.

At the same time, Barcelona also notified suppliers to provide the required materials for the Stadium of Luis Panis, if necessary. The first home game against Valencia is scheduled to be held in the fourth round of the league on September 13 or 14. The club's goal is still to hold the game at Spotify Camp Nou, but it will be the only game not within the agreement with the BSM, as there is a Post Malone concert on Friday, September 12, and the turf will not be available. Therefore, this game cannot be held in Montphic unless the venue is changed at the last minute.

Barcelona is waiting for the final completion certificate for Spotify Camp Nou Stadium and hopes to obtain the city's first use permit. For the match against Valencia, there are two solutions: one is to play behind closed doors at Spotify Camp Nou, as pointed out by COPE Radio; the other is to move it to other stadiums with enabled La Liga and VAR systems. While the Coneglia El Prat Stadium has never been considered, Montilivi (Grona) is the next most recent option. However, the club guarantees that these options have not been considered.

As for the first home game of the Champions League, Barcelona requests to play away on September 16, 17 or 18, and will only play as the home team in the second round of the match on September 30 or October 1. Although UEFA usually doesn't accept such a request, the club is optimistic about it. The "group match" schedule will not be announced until Saturday, August 30, two days after Monaco's draw.

Everything is up for the air, but it is not ruled out that Barcelona may finish the Champions League in January or February at the Olympic Stadium and then continue the league and cup matches at the Spotify Camp Nou after the city approved the first use permit.

Lescottes District's home court (with a capacity of 62,000 when the first and second floor stands are fully available) has a larger capacity than the Olympic Stadium (which set a record 50,319 attendance against Real Madrid last season), so the club may also earn more.
