On Tuesday, Barcelona reported that Lewandowski had a torn biceps muscle in his left leg. The club's announcement read: "He will be absent and the recovery time will depend on the evolution of the injury."

Such injuries usually mean a truce of three to six weeks, so the Polish forward is basically certain to miss the national derby. Joan Garcia, Ter Stegen, Garvey and Olmo will also miss the game.

Lewandowski returned to the training base on Tuesday.
