It is reported that Vinicius was charged in the Brazilian judicial system for allegedly "disturbing the work or peace of others" at his birthday party in Rio de Janeiro. Official sources confirmed the news on Wednesday.
The case was heard in Rio's Ninth Special Criminal Court, which handles minor crimes. The case stemmed from a complaint from a neighbor near the location where Vinicius celebrated his 25th birthday. The celebrations lasted from July 19 to the early morning of July 21.
According to the complaint cited by the "Globe", the party was held in a luxurious manor designed to host large-scale events such as weddings or corporate events. The party caused loud noise and destroyed the tranquility of surrounding residents.
The complainant stated that he called the police, and the military police arrived at the scene to confirm the high-volume music and noise, and asked the party participants to lower the volume. Vinicius and his guests complied with police requests, but according to the complainant, after police left, "the sound again reached extremely high levels of volume."
Sources from the Rio de Janeiro state judicial department said that a preliminary hearing on the case will be held on November 6. Under Brazilian law, "disturbing the work or peace of others" can be punished by 15 days to three months in prison or a fine.
Local media previously reported that Vinicius hosted a grand party to celebrate his 25th birthday, including a concert (including a performance by rapper Travis Scott), fireworks and amusement park-style entertainment facilities. According to "Globo", the party gathered about 500 guests, including Vinicius's Real Madrid teammate and French midfielder Camavinga, as well as other celebrities, such as Brazilian singer Anita, one of the representatives of Latin American reggaeton music.
