The "Team" reported that Paris was ruled by the court to force payment of some of Buffon's taxes.

According to the judgment made by the Paris Court of Appeal on July 10, Paris Saint-Germain was ordered to pay some of the tax reimbursement during Buffon's 2018-19 season. The goalkeeper was previously notified by the Italian tax authorities to pay more than 1.2 million euros due to the income declaration in 2018.

The player made a claim based on the special clause in the labor contract: "If the Italian personal income tax in 2018 is retroactively adjusted before December 31, 2023, Paris Saint-Germain promised to bear 50% of the tax (the upper limit is 250,000 euros net after deducting social security and taxes), and the amount will be used as an additional foreign player allowance."

After the Labor Arbitration Tribunal first ruled that Paris needs to pay the amount, the club appealed but was not supported, but the Italian legendary star's claim to pay the club 25,000 euros malicious defense compensation was not supported.
