Tottenham midfielder Palinha was interviewed recently and responded to criticism of himself by Liverpool star and commentator Jamie Carragher.

After Tottenham lost to Chelsea, Carragher criticized Palinha for lacking the ability to play in the midfield of a top Premier League team. In this regard, Palinha said: "I saw those comments because some people sent them to me, and I can't say that I didn't see them."

"I don't care what others say, if even Cristiano Ronaldo can be said bad things by Carragher, then Carragher can talk about anyone. Some people need to talk about others to appear on the TV screen. "My life is definitely not like that."

"It's a bit embarrassing sometimes to see former players talking like that. The way they talk, sometimes they look like superstars living in the past, and I'll put it bluntly."

"I think he should probably watch a few more of my games at Tottenham. My performance this season is top-notch. "I don't really care because there are always a lot of birds chirping around us, trying to hit us, but he won't be the first and he won't be the last. The key is how we respond, and the way I responded was after what he said to me. I just want to continue to do my job and show my abilities because I am very proud of what I have done so far."

Talking about the next game against Arsenal, Palinha said: "We are very motivated and have everything we need to achieve a good result."
