Bayer: Kovac hopes I stay in Dortmund, and I have no intention of leaving

Bayer responded to the transfer rumors and confirmed that he had no intention of leaving Dortmund.
"I noticed some rumors circulating. I also heard some comments from my teammates," Baier said in an interview with Eurosport. "I talked to Kovac about this and he clearly told me that I should stay here. I also made it clear in the conversation that I have no intention of leaving and hope to stay in Dortmund."
Previously, it was reported that Premier League team Brentford was ready to offer the German international a quotation of up to 70 million euros. According to Ruhr News, if new aid Fabio Silva can play immediately, Dortmund may consider selling Bayer.
However, the situation has frustrated the club's senior management as Silva underwent adductor surgery before joining the franchise. Byer moved from Hoffenheim to Dortmund last summer for €28.5 million and performed well under Kovac as a key player for the team. The 22-year-old played 21 times under the current coach and the 22-year-old directly participated in 11 goals.
"We get along well and communicate frequently. I did a great job with him last season and he made me better," Baier said of Kovac. "He always lets me play my favorite spot, whether it's one of the double strikers or the drag-back in the middle, which is perfect for me."
With the transfer window closed, Baier's future has been determined to be in Dortmund and his focus will be on continuing to be excellent. Dortmund will challenge Heidenheim away in the Bundesliga this Saturday, and Byer will have a chance to increase his goals.
