In the NBA regular season, the Mavericks defeated the Wizards 111-105 on the road.

In an interview after the game, Mavericks player Najib Marshall said: "We have to have someone step up. This is something we have always known. This can't just be talked about, but must be really done. We did it tonight. I am really proud of my teammates. We played really hard today, even though four of us couldn't play, but everyone worked hard. This is really a victory with the whole team's efforts. I hope this is a new beginning."

When talking about the performance of the team's bench, Marshall said: "I have to praise these brothers today. Kudos, especially to (Moussa) Cisse. We have high demands on Cisse and we all see his potential. He stepped up. This is exactly what we need. Several of our insiders were injured. We have to praise everyone on the bench. This is pure basketball. We are today. We played very energetically late, enjoying the process of playing with each other, and getting the results we wanted."

In this campaign, Najib Marshall played 31 minutes as a substitute, making 9 of 14 shots, 3 of 4 three-pointers, 9 of 11 free throws, and scored 30 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals.
