NBA officially announced today that the 2026 All-Stars will start a new competition format of Team USA VS Team World!
It is reported that this year’s 24 All-Stars, 12 stars from each division (5 starters + 7 substitutes rule as usual), but this year’s All-Stars will not be selected based on position.
The specific selection mechanism is as follows:
The five starting players in each East and West are determined by fan voting (accounting for 50%), active player voting (accounting for 25%) and media voting (accounting for 25%); the seven substitute players in each East and West are voted by the head coaches of each NBA team.
This year’s selection of All-Star players will no longer differentiate between on-field positions, and the player grouping mechanism for the two American teams will be announced later.
